    Mai

    Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing

    Pursuing nursing studies, Mai grew up in a children’s home because her mother moved a lot to support her family after Mai’s father passed away. A high achiever, Mai wants to specialize in either geriatric or pediatric care.

    Chompu

    Bachelor’s in Economics

    Chompu, a dedicated student from the Akha hill tribe, graduated high school and earned admission to Chiang Mai University through her strong academic portfolio. Originally interested in accounting, she was encouraged by her pastor to study economics to broaden her career options. Raised by her mother and coming from a financially challenged background, she seeks this scholarship to pursue her dreams and one day help others manage their finances. Energetic and driven, Chompu enjoys singing, dancing, and hopes to be a university cheerleader while working toward a career in finance.

    Pannada

    Bachelor’s in Korean and English

    Pannada is Tiyara’s first scholarship recipient in Northern Thailand. She is from the Akha Tribal group and she loves learning languages. Pannada is pursuing a Bachelor’s in Korean and aspires for a career in the foreign service, the corporate or tourist industries.

    Payuda

    Bachelor’s in Nursing

    Inspired by her mother’s example as a volunteer nurse, Payuda is passionate about pursuing nursing to serve those without access to healthcare. Despite growing up in a children’s home and facing financial hardship, she graduated from high school and completed a reserve officer training course. Her parents are unemployed, and she helps care for her younger siblings. Motivated, service-oriented, and musically talented, she seeks scholarship support to fulfill her dream of becoming a nurse or midwife for underserved communities.

    Onpriya

    Bachelor’s in Chinese

    On is majoring in Chinese and hopes to work after graduation in Thailand’s robust tourist industry. An indigenous Lawa, On says she was inspired by growing up around people of Chinese origin. On’s mother worked as a cook to raise On and her siblings, after their father walked out on the family.
